Court papers released after the postponed meeting today reveals the Lautoka High Court has ordered, amongst others, a cabinet minister to pay 8 thousand dollars to executives of Sangam Fiji.
In a judgement delivered on Friday by Justice Mohammed Ajmeer, the Lautoka High Court delivered a ruling in favour of Sangam Fiji, upholding the organisations decision to suspend 5 members.
Amongst them is Local Government Minister Parveen Bala.
Dorsami Naidu, Bala, Raja Kumaran, Avinesh Reddy and Parmesh Lingam had made
ex-parte applications to the High Court challenging their suspension.
They had wanted to contest today’s annual general meeting.
Justice Ajmer, after hearing arguments from both sides, ruled in favour of Sangam Fiji, upholding their suspension.
