Avinesh Kumar Raj now faces two counts of impersonation, two counts of Obtaining Financial Advantage by Deception, one count of theft and one count of absconding bail.

For the charge of impersonation Raj is alleged to have falsely represented himself twice in 2014 as a Health Inspector and inspected a Supermarket in Suva.

And at the same supermarket he allegedly obtained $1200 from the owner and promised them to facilitate business license, which he failed to do.

Apart from that Raj also allegedly stole assorted items from a woman in Suva worth over $11,000 last year.

Raj has dismissed the legal aid counsel today and told the court he will now engage a private lawyer.

He will now take a plea on all his charges next Friday.
