The Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management is assisting rural communities through the Poverty Alleviation Housing Program.
This housing assistance targets social welfare recipients to own decent homes.
66-year-old Bimla Wati of Saweni in Lautoka is one of those that received this assistance.
Commissioner Western Division, Manasa Tagicakibau said the assistance provided an opportunity for rural people to own decent homes at a reasonable cost.
The total cost of the project is approximately 12 thousand dollars.
