Fiji has ranked 110th out of one hundred and 74 countries in the world where women hold ministerial positions in government.
The data is revealed in the Women in Politics map 2017 that was released in New York last night.
The presents global rankings for countries in terms of the percentage of women in the executive and parliamentary branches of government as of 1 January 2017.
For Fiji, two women ministers out of 13 has placed us in the 110th ranking according to the percentage of women in ministerial positions, reflecting appointments.
We are ranked 123rd out of one hundred and 74 when it comes to women in parliament where the Fijian Parliament had 8 out of 50 women in the house of parliament.
Fiji is signaled out for having a women speaker of the parliament, we are one the 53 countries in the world to have one.
