Sugar industry stakeholders in Ba, met with the senior executives of the Fiji Sugar Corporation, Ministry of Sugar, Sugar Cane Growers Council, South Pacific Fertilizers and farmers, to discuss the way forward for the industry.
Also joining them was the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy – Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, in his capacity as the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Sugar.
The meeting discussed various issues pertaining to the industry, and how stakeholders could further enhance the industry to make it viable.
Issues also discussed – included land , transportation, cane quality and burnt cane, amongst others.
