Vodafone Fiji 7s coach – Gareth Baber, has opened the doors for overseas-based players, who will want to represent Fiji in next year’s Commonwealth Games and the Rugby 7s World Cup.
Last year, Josua Tuisova and Leone Nakarawa were the two overseas-based players, that played an instrumental role in helping Fiji win gold in Rio – and with this, Baber will not shy away from getting overseas based players.
“Yeah absolutely i want the best team possible to play for Fiji, I know that they are involved in competitions around the world especially in Europe and i have to select players who can make that transition into sevens quite quickly.”
Baber says 2018 will be a hectic year for the team, and preparations will need to start soon, so that players are ready for the new season.
