A government quarters in Rakiraki was completely destroyed today after it caught fire.
The fire started at about half past one this afternoon.
A staff from the Ministry of Agriculture was living in this house – he was away at the time of the fire.
The corrugated iron and timber dwelling was located at Korowaqa and was adjacent to the Nakauvadra High School.
National Fire Authority responded to the emergency but were not able to save the house.
The N-F-A and Police will now carry out an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
