The Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu continued his Northern Division tour meeting with farmers in Macuata and inspected Government Stations in the province.
Seruiratu was also briefed on development programs in Macuata spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Minister Seruiratu stated that the visits to Macuata was further indication of the intent of the Ministry to help assist farmers contribute more effectively to the agriculture sector.
“We are here to provide the boost to our farmers, to talk and discuss with them areas that they can implement to increase their productivity and yield while also pinpointing certain aspects that will require the Ministry’s attention, that is why we are here,” he said.
In a stopover at Mr. Viliame Samucava’s farm in Nasolo, Seruiratu commended Mr. Samucava for the upkeep of his farm as it reflected his commitment towards his farming endeavor.
“It is quite impressive how you have managed to keep your farm very clean, this shows your commitment towards your farm and tells a lot about your character, this is what farmers should aspire to follow, hard work and commitment,” Minister Seruiratu said.
