The role of the Fijian diaspora in the country’s development was highlighted by the President at the Fiji Day celebrations in London.His Excellency Joiji Konrote along with the First Lady were Chief Guests at the 2016 Fiji Day celebrations organised by the Fiji High Commission in partnership with Fijians living in the UK.
The President said Fijians around the world played a vital role in shaping Fiji’s socio economic development progress especially in terms of remittances and other forms of assistance to their families back home.
President Konrote also opened the largest exhibition on Fijian art and cultural artifacts at the University of East Anglia.
He is also expected to meet with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II while there.
