The trade impasse between Fiji and Papua New Guinea will soon be resolved.
That’s according to the government.
The trade war started after Fiji banned the import of the famous OX and Palm corned beef saying it was not safe for the Fijian Market.
And has also stopped the import of PNG’s Trukai Rice and PNG made biscuits.
The Papua New Guinea government threatened Fiji, it will denay all other requests from Fiji exporters or PNG importers for any new food based products from Fiji including poultry.
Speaking exclusively to Fiji One News today, the Trade Minister Faiyaz Koya said the Government has the situation under control.
We hoping the situation will be solved before they(BAF Official) reach there, we’ll see.
Fiji will be sending across the Executive Chair Xaiver Riyaz Khan of the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji and Fiji’s Trade Commissioner to PNG Navitalai Tuivuniwai to help resolve the matter.
