Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has delivered a strong message at the UN Oceans Conference Welcome Reception in New York.
In his keynote address at the Welcoming Dinner, Bainimarama says that it took people many years to put the ocean in its current unhealthy state and it will take more than one UN conference to set things right.
Prime Minister and Presidents of the UN Oceans Conference Voreqe Bainimarama says that everyone plays an important part in saving our ocean. Bainimarama did not mince his words as he told those that were present that our ocean is ailing.
He also says that without a healthy ocean the quality of life on this planet will deteriorate. The same sentiments were shared by the Co-President of the UN Oceans Conference and Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden as she called on immediate action for people to start saving our ocean.
The UN Oceans Conference will end this Friday.
