Goundar Shipping Limited is forecasting a 30 percent decrease in fare for the traveling public.
This was revealed by the shipping owner George Goundar as the shipping company introduced their latest fleet the Lomaiviti Princess V.
She was welcomed at the Narain jetty in Suva this morning after 19 days of sailing from her former home in Canada.
The Lomaiviti Princess 5 was built in 1992.
Goundar has labelled the ship as one of the largest marine vessel in Fiji as it is 130 meters in length with 16 knots speed and with the capacity to carry 1500 passengers and 164 cars.
An investment of 2.5 million was made in bring this new vessel to Fiji.
With its state of the art facilities including restaurants, private rooms and a kids play area, the Lomaiviti Princess V has created 55 new job opportunities for Fijians.
