Head of State visits children and senior citizens

25507716_1743160395716888_8802181222612247621_nOrphanages and senior citizens in the western division received a visit from the President – Major General (retired) Jioji Konrote yesterday.

The visit by the Fijian Head of State, is part of his annual visitations where he joins children and senior citizens, to celebrate Christmas.

The visitation began at the Treasure Homes, before his surprise visit at St Mina’s Home in Nadi. He was accompanied by the staff of the Office of the President. Konrote also paid a visit to the Golden Age Home in Natabua, Lautoka.

During his surprise visit there, the Fiji Head of State took the opportunity to thank the senior citizens who are residents of the home, for their contributions to their families, communities and the nation.

Konrote mentioned the efforts of the senior citizens, is also a blessing to their children and every Fijian including himself. The President concluded his visit to the western division today, at Veilomani Boys Centre in Ba.

The centre was founded and is being run by the Methodist Church of Fiji.

Speaking to the 17 boys who are residing at the centre, Konrote urged the boys to aim high and work hard, towards achieving their goals.

He also invited the boys for a visit to Government House in Suva next year, once the renovation works are completed.
